Paul Sanchez, a native New Orleanian, spent 16 years tirelessly touring the country with the New Orleans rock band he co-founded, Cowboy Mouth. After Hurricane Katrina shook up his world, Paul decided to strike out on his own, taking charge of his own musical path.

A regular performer in the clubs around New Orleans and around the country, Paul has wholeheartedly jumped into writing and performing music that is close to his heart, finding his inspiration in the rich and diverse culture of his home town, both past and present.

Sanchez says of Exit to Mystery Street, “I wanted to do something tracing my New Orleans roots. I wanted to see what New Orleans was for me. I didn’t know. I was lost.”

As one of the first two Threadhead Records’ projects, this CD is a delicious musical gumbo featuring a number of prominent New Orleans musicians including Matt Perrine, Ivan Neville, Susan Cowsill, Big Sam Williams, John Boutte, and Freddy Omar and puts Sanchez on a path to the top the list of New Orleans’ premier songwriters and performers.
