Arséne DeLay Project

New Orleans native Arséne DeLay is set to release her first solo album this fall. DeLay, youngest of the world-renowned Boutté vocalists, has spent her 12-year career performing in some of the most recognized projects and with some of the brightest stars in New Orleans and Los Angeles. Ready to forge out with her own project, DeLay has teamed up with local songwriters, including Paul Sanchez and Alex McMurray, to create a sound that captures both the timelessness of New Orleans music and the uniqueness of DeLay’s sultry styling.

“I am so excited to finally be putting out a solo album,” said DeLay. “It’s been many years in the making and I think I’ve finally found the right group of people to help me make this dream a reality.”

DeLay’s most recent project, featured vocalist on Nine Lives, A Musical Story of New Orleans, has received critical acclaim in local and national press for its heartbreaking and heartwarming tale of nine characters during and following Hurricane Katrina. Also a Threadhead Records project, and Paul Sanchez collaboration, DeLay injected her singular musical savvy into the project,

acting as musical director for the Los Angeles run and providing vocal direction throughout the whole of the project.

Arséne recently returned to New Orleans following a 6-year stint in Los Angeles where she worked as an actress and musician. In LA, Arséne collaborated with 20-piece big band, Vaud and the Villains. Performing as her alter-ego, Lady Creole, DeLay transforms into a hard hitting get-‘em-on-their-feet-ragtime, blues and 1920’s style diva, commanding the stage effortlessly. Currently, you can find Arséne singing with Paul Sanchez and the Rolling Road Show; alongside her famous uncle, John Boutté; and taking Festival stages by storm.

Arséne is a classically trained vocalist and actress whose heartfelt musicianship has touched audiences from coast to coast.

“All I can tell you is that it’s coming from my soul, and when I sing, I’m aiming for the souls on the receiving end,” said DeLay.  “If you walk away healed, having danced, cried, or been comforted—knowing you aren’t the only one, then my job is done.”

Her solo debut album will be a collection of originals, sprinkled in with a few written by dear friends and songwriters who inspire her. It’s time. She has come into her own and we are ready to hear her.
